SSAB is undergoing a double transformation – fossil-free and digitalization. SSAB is world’s first company that has started fossil-free steel deliveries and we are building the worlds first fossil-free steel mill in Luleå that will be up and running by 2028. Mastering the double transformation requires new skills and so SSAB is launching the Digital Graduate Program. Our Digital Graduate Program is created to equip the next generation of SSAB professionals with the specialized skills that SSAB needs going forward. More specifically we are looking for people with the following skills and interests:

General development and management skills

(e.g. project management, finance and controlling, business analysis, change management, testing, business requirements writing, service design, service management)

Architecture skills

(eg. technology architecture, business process/capability mapping, business process modeling, information architecture)

Application management and configuration skills for the new digital platforms

(e.g. configuration, release management, incident management, technical management)

The Digital Graduate Program in brief

The program will last 12 months, starting in September 2025. The program consists of four modules, focusing on SSAB fundamentals, self-awareness, leadership and change management. During the program you will have a continous on-the-job training and knowledge and skill development, as well as rotation to learn other areas. You will have a manager, a mentor and regular experience sharing with your peers in the Digital Graduate Program.

Through exposure to real projects, strategic insights, and cross-functional collaboration during the program, you will develop a deep understanding for the SSAB business landscape and the critical role that our digital programs and initiatives plays within it.

There are several different roles to join and grow in: Technology Specialist, Key User, Financial Developer and Project Manager.

You will be assigned to a permanent position and mentoring will continue for two years after the program.

  • Recently graduated or about to graduate from University with a master’s degree (for example computer science, business, economics, etc.). Recently graduated: Max 6-12 months since graduation. About to graduate: bachelor’s degree completed and expected to complete a master’s degree within 6-12 months.
  • An ability to structure complex situations and problems with a solution-oriented approach.
  • An appetite for digital innovation. An interest in and adaptive to understanding the potential of new technologies. Curious and knowledge seeking.
  • Communication and interaction skills and an ability to build a network within SSAB.
  • An interest in manufacturing industry.
